Linda and Dale Are Moving to Scotland

January 27th 2012 -

A couple of years ago Linda told us that she had gone to Scotland with her daughter, Mandy, to see if she could do some “ancestor searching” on her husband’s side. She fell in love with it so much over there she talked him into actually moving there. So she wanted to get him to see the place first, before making such a big move, and she did a search for Holiday Cottages in Scotland and came up with some really nice-looking (and inexpensive) places to stay.

Dale is always one to “go cheap” she told me, so she made sure to find a place to stay that wouldn’t break the budget. Is this what is known as “being Scotch?” I wondered, because we knew how tight he was with money for just about everything. Everything that is except for purchasing a “smoker.” “He spent a lot on that,” Linda told us, “as well as purchasing the spice rubs they sell at this one famous sporting goods place.” So apparently somewhere along the line and for some things the “Scotch-ness” doesn’t kick in for Dale?
